Film launch party featuring the newest Jerusalem U film
"Mekonen: The Journey of an African Jew" 
followed by a hip-hop concert.

Cafe Shahor Hazak (Strong Black Coffee) are two young Ethiopian-Israeli hip-hop artists inspired by rappers such as 2PAC, P-Ditty and Jay-Z. 
They deliver positive, inspirational messages and both"Mekonen" and the band tell the stories of successful Israeli immigrants, one in the army and one in the music industry. 


Mekonen follows the personal journey of Mekonen Abebe, a young African-Israeli Jewish IDF soldier, as he returns to Ethiopia to explore his roots, make peace with his past, and embrace his future in Israel.
